Lower bill heating my home with oil

I purchased a home in NYC in an area where heating my home with oil was my only option. I was worried about how much it would cost heating my home with heating oil. It gets very cold in the NYC area in the winter and I was concerned how high the price of heating oil might go up. I always heard the heating your home with oil could be expensive. I called the consumers energy group in NYC and enrolled in a fixed price contract. There were no surprises when I opened my bill every month. Being on a fixed contract I found that heating my home with heating oil was much cheaper than I thought it would be.
